Parnidis Dune Viewpoint
Breathtaking views from the largest shifting sand dune in Europe – UNESCO-protected Curonian Spit.
Parnidis Dune is one of the tallest and most impressive dunes on the Curonian Spit, reaching 52 meters above sea level. From the viewing platform, an extraordinary panorama unfolds: on one side the Curonian Lagoon and Lithuania mainland, on the other the vast Baltic Sea. A sundial built in 1995 stands on the dune. The Curonian Spit is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Parnidis Dune is one of its most popular attractions. Constant sand migration processes reshape the landscape continuously. Rare plants and birds can be observed here.
