Plunge Manor (Oginski)

A Neo-Renaissance manor of the Oginski family with a splendid park, known as the cradle of Samogitian culture. In the 19th century, the manor was an important musical and cultural center.

Plunge Manor is a residence of the Oginski princes, built in the second half of the 19th century in the Neo-Renaissance style. Prince Mykolas Oginski established a music school here, where the future famous composer Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis studied. The manor complex includes the main palace building, outbuildings, a stable complex, and gates with towers. Surrounding the manor is one of Lithuania's most beautiful landscape parks, created in the late 19th century. The park features ponds, bridges, sculptures, and rare trees. Today, the manor houses the Samogitian Art Museum, and the manor complex is the most important architectural highlight of Plunge.
