Raudone Castle
A red-brick castle with the tallest castle tower in Lithuania on the Nemunas slope. Built in the 16th century, the castle captivates with its romantic appearance and historical heritage.
Raudone Castle is one of Lithuania's most famous castles, standing on a high bank of the Nemunas River. The castle's history begins in the 16th century when it was built by Prussian-origin nobleman Krispy Kirsenstein. Over the centuries, several families owned the castle, each adding new elements to the complex. In the 19th century, the castle was rebuilt in the Neo-Gothic style and acquired its current romantic appearance. The castle tower, at 33.5 meters, is the tallest among Lithuanian castle towers. From its top, a stunning panoramic view of the Nemunas valley unfolds. Today, the castle houses a museum exhibition, and the tower is open to visitors.
