The National Gallery of Art (NGA) is the largest and most important Lithuanian art exhibition space, belonging to the Lithuanian Art Museum. The gallery is housed in a modernist building by the Neris River, reconstructed in 2009. The permanent exhibition presents the development of 20th–21st century Lithuanian art – from national romanticism to contemporary art. The gallery regularly hosts temporary exhibitions, educational events, and art evenings. The building's architecture and spaces create a unique atmosphere for displaying artworks.
