The Vilnius University Museum operates within the historic ensemble of the oldest higher education institution in the Baltic States, founded in 1579. The university complex comprises 13 courtyards with architecture spanning various epochs – from Gothic to Classicism. The Church of St. Johns with its Baroque interior and the university library with 18th-century frescoes are of exceptional value. The museum exhibition presents the university's history, the legacy of famous alumni, the collection of scientific instruments, and academic traditions. Visitors can view the Observatory, the Rector's office, and historic lecture halls. It is not only a museum but also a functioning university imbued with centuries of academic spirit.
