Kernave Archaeological Museum

A museum at the UNESCO World Heritage Site – the ancient Lithuanian capital of Kernave. The exhibition presents archaeological finds from the Stone Age to the medieval period.

The Kernave Archaeological Museum operates at the UNESCO World Heritage Site – the Kernave Archaeological Site, the former first capital of Lithuania. The museum exhibition presents millennia-old archaeological finds discovered during excavations in Kernave and its surroundings. Visitors can explore remains of Stone Age settlements, Bronze and Iron Age artifacts, the medieval town structure, and details of everyday life. The museum displays weapons, jewelry, ceramics, tools, and other finds. Every July, an international Days of Live Archaeology festival takes place here, attracting thousands of visitors. The museum is an important research center collaborating with Lithuanian and foreign universities.
