Birute Hill Viewpoint is located atop the legendary 25-meter hillfort in Palanga Botanical Park. According to legend, the vestal virgin Birute lived here before Duke Kestutis married her. A 19th-century chapel stands on the hilltop, and the viewing platform offers an unforgettable view of the Baltic Sea, the treetops of the botanical park, and the city of Palanga. It is one of the most romantic and frequently visited places in Palanga. The hill is especially beautiful at sunset, when the sea is painted in golden colors.
