Samogitia National Park encompasses Plateliai Lake – the largest body of water in Samogitia. The park features a unique Cold War exhibition in a former missile base and living Užgavėnės (Shrovetide) traditions.

Samogitia National Park is the only national park in Samogitia, established in 1991 in the Plungė district. The park centers around Plateliai Lake, the largest and deepest lake in Samogitia (area 12 km², depth up to 46 m), which contains seven islands. The park features a Cold War exhibition in a former Soviet missile base – a unique site opened in 2012. Samogitia preserves living Užgavėnės (Shrovetide) traditions – masqueraders, pancakes, and the burning of Morė. Visitors can hike nature trails, sail on the lake, and visit the churches of Beržoras and Plateliai. Wildlife includes moose, wild boar, and beavers.
