Curonian Spit National Park

A UNESCO World Heritage Site – a unique sand spit between the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. The Great Dune at Nida reaches 52 m in height and is one of the tallest in Europe.

Curonian Spit National Park covers the Lithuanian part of the Curonian Spit – a unique sand peninsula inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000. The spit is a 98 km long and 0.4–3.8 km wide sand strip between the Curonian Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. The Great Dune (Parnidis Dune) at Nida reaches 52 m in height – one of the largest shifting dunes in Europe. The park features Juodkrantė's Witches' Hill with wooden sculptures, Thomas Mann's summer house in Nida, and ethnographic fishermen's homestead complexes. Wildlife includes roe deer, foxes, numerous bird species, and seals in the sea.
