The park encompasses the middle reaches of the Nemunas and Birštonas spa – famous for mineral springs and sanatoriums. The Nemunas loops create a special landscape here.
Nemunas Middle Reaches Regional Park, established in 1992, encompasses the middle stretch of the Nemunas and the surroundings of Birštonas spa. Birštonas is one of the oldest spas in Lithuania, famous for mineral springs whose healing properties have been known since the 19th century. The Nemunas loops create a special landscape here – wide panoramas open from observation platforms. The park features Birštonas hillfort, several nature trails, and cycling routes. The surroundings include the villages of Škėvonys and Nemajūnai. It is an excellent destination for wellness holidays and active outdoor recreation.
