A regional park in northern Vilnius featuring Verkiai Palace – a gem of classicist architecture. The Neris riverside invites walks.
Verkiai Regional Park, established in 1998, is in the northern part of Vilnius city. The park centers on the Verkiai Palace complex, a late 18th-century classicist ensemble that was the summer residence of Vilnius bishops. The palace stands on a high Neris bluff offering excellent views of the river valley. Visitors can walk along the Neris, visit the palace park, and admire old architecture. The park also features the Calvary Stations of the Cross – a 17th-century pilgrimage tradition. The park is popular among Vilnius residents as a recreation and exercise destination.
