Klaipėda Evangelical Lutheran Church

The main Evangelical Lutheran church in Klaipėda, a neo-Gothic building in the city center.

The Klaipėda Evangelical Lutheran Church is the most important Protestant sacral building in Western Lithuania, located in Klaipėda Old Town. The current church was built in 1854 according to the design of renowned Prussian architect Friedrich August Stüler in neo-Gothic style. The church reflects the Protestant heritage of the Klaipėda Region – a former part of Prussia. The building was damaged during World War II but later restored. Today it serves as the main church of the Klaipėda Evangelical Lutheran parish, hosting regular services and concerts. The church is an important center of the Lutheran tradition in Lithuania.
