Lithuania's oldest and most popular spa resort with mineral waters, the Baltics' only year-round ski arena, and Grūtas Park.

Druskininkai is Lithuania's oldest resort, famous for its healing mineral waters since the 18th century. In 1794 King Stanisław August Poniatowski officially granted the settlement resort status. The name derives from the word "druska" (salt) – salty springs emerge from the ground here.

About

Druskininkai is a resort on the Nemunas River, famous for healing mineral waters since the 19th century. The town became an official resort in 1794. It hosts "Snow Arena" (2011) – the Baltics' only year-round ski center with a 460 m slope and 25,000 m² skiing area. A cable car connects the Old Town with Snow Arena. Grūtas Park (10 km from center) is a unique open-air museum of Soviet sculptures with 80+ statues of Lenin, Stalin, and others. "Druskininkai Aqua Park" was Lithuania's first water park (2006). Dzūkija National Park is nearby.
