Druskininkai is Lithuania's oldest resort, famous for its healing mineral waters since the 18th century. In 1794 King Stanisław August Poniatowski officially granted the settlement resort status. The name derives from the word "druska" (salt) – salty springs emerge from the ground here.
Druskininkai is a resort on the Nemunas River, famous for healing mineral waters since the 19th century. The town became an official resort in 1794.
